Love Letters

I have to express my unbelievable thanks to Merri-Makers and the team at the Ashford Estate.  Laura McCann is so wonderful and put up with all my crazy emails and calls.  Her staff is so kind and attentive.  We waited for nothing all day and all night.  Staying at the Ashford was actually a privilege and I felt like it was my home for the day.  They go so out of their way to make it feel that way for you.  All of my guests were so impressed and so at home there.  It was such a special experience.

It was one of life’s best days and nights.  I don’t know if I could have ever been more satisfied.  The food was fantastic, and my guests are still raving.  The service and the dedication of the staff to make the day perfect was overwhelming.  Not a minute went by that someone wasn’t checking on my guests, or me and my husband or Alexa or Anthony.

Every now and again, God gives you the most perfect day.  That is what we thought of our experience – Perfect.  I am the Ashford’s biggest fan.  My only regret is that it went by so fast and was a bit of a blur.  I wish we could do it all again.

I could not be more grateful to all of you.

It was a spectacular affair…the raves from all our friends continue to come in.  The day, the grounds, the food, the service, the suites upstairs….all AMAZING!!!

But what stood out the most for Neil and me was the care and concern and love from all of your staff!  We both felt so much support and for this, above and beyond everything else, we will forever be grateful!

I honestly can’t provide any constructive feedback because everything met our expectations and more.  You probably hear this a lot but your staff was ahead of us on everything from the day we signed the contract to when we walked out the door at the end of the wedding night.  Everything we asked they delivered and many things we didn’t even think of.  I can only imagine all the scurrying they did behind the scenes to create a seamless day for us and it was all much appreciated.  In retrospect my daughter described her wedding day as beautiful and peaceful, and much of that can be attributed to all the work of your crew.

You probably hear this a lot too, the food was sensational.  Many of our guests have been to lots and lots of weddings and I heard over and over that the food was the best they’ve ever had…of course I wish I had had time to try everything but I can speak from tasting the tomahawks and scallops that they were right!  And I won’t forget walking out of the ceremony to a staff member handing me a gin and tonic, what a thoughtful (and much needed!) gesture.

Thanks to all for the hard work which made our day just perfect.  I wish I had another daughter so we could run it back 🙂

It couldn’t have been a more perfect day… even with the nor’easter and 69 mph winds!! LOL! The food and the staff were beyond exceptional. Everyone raved about the food and the service was outstanding.

Where to begin?!

Laura, I sincerely want to thank you and all of the staff at Ashford, Merry Makers Caterers, and Patty and her staff from Neptune Liquors for making Alexa and Nate’s wedding a truly fairy-tale experience. The professionalism and flawless service were absolutely impeccable. 

Alexa’s attendants were attentive to her every need, and Megan did an outstanding job coordinating the early part of the evening.  Patty truly came to the rescue by making beautiful cocktail signs for our signature drinks. It was such a kind example of someone going above and beyond for us.

The food was both delicious and abundant, with beautifully presented displays. I was thrilled by all the positive feedback we received about the main entrées—so many guests shared rave reviews about the meal. Some of the cocktail hour favorites were the tomahawk steak, lobster shooters, and suckling pig! As someone who loves to cook and can be quite critical when dining out, I can honestly say Merri- Makers far exceeded my expectations!

The entire evening ran like a well-oiled machine. Of course, the stunning aesthetics of the Ashford property and the beautifully decorated rooms only added to the magic of the day.

A heartfelt thank-you to your entire team—and especially to you—for making this process effortless from start to finish. Your warm demeanour and prompt responses to every question helped ease so much of the stress along the way.
