Rick Bott, Chief Executive Officer
As a lifelong resident of Monmouth county, when Rick decided to open his own business, he chose a small storefront location in the heart of Red Bank. Merri-Makers was born in 1978 and Rick has spearheaded its growth to its present status as New Jersey’s pre-eminent catering company. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, his visionary style now finds Merri-Makers as one of the country´s top caterers. Rick’s commitment to outstanding food and exceptional service has kept him successful for almost 40 years. Over the years, Merri-Makers has brought together many couples, including Rick and his wife Cindy, who met at Merri-Makers and now share and operate the business. During the summer months you may see one of their 4 children working at events as well.
Jack McCann III, President and Executive Chef
International Caterer’s Association Chef of the Year, Jack is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University. Jack began his career with Merri-Makers in 1991 and has earned the title of President and Executive Chef. His impressive culinary experiences paired with his commitment to exceeding client expectations is what contributes to the success of all catered events. Jack marries his vision of cutting edge culinary trends with our client’s expectations to make each and every event a memorable one. His love of food is expressed through everything created in our kitchen.
Laura DeGennaro, VP of Sales and Event Consultant at The Ashford Estate
Moving from Maryland to New Jersey in 1996, Laura started with Merri Makers and has grown with the company ever since. Laura always keeps in mind that every event is unique and the details are critical. “I love the excitement and romance of weddings and am excited to start working with you to create one of the most important days of your life.” Laura’s events have been featured in Style Me Pretty, The Knot, NJ Weddings and Cater Source.
Chris Marciniak, Chef du Cuisine and Procurement
Chris has been with Merri-Makers since 2011 and has worked hard to achieve his current position. He sources local seafood and produce from a variety of different vendors to best suite current menus. Chris’s attention to detail and his ability to be creative on his feet make him a valuable addition to The Ashford Estate and off premise events.
Mary Rasmussen, Event Consultant at Bonnet Island Estate
Mary’s background in sales and service made her a natural fit with Merri-Makers when she began her career here in 2009. She loves having the pleasure of being a part of the beautiful union of two people planning to spend the rest of their lives together. “I am happy to be working with the Merri-Makers Team, who really cares in creating an everlasting event from the start of the wedding planning to the moments that will begin their first day together as husband and wife.”
Andrea K. Muniak, Event Consultant at Bonnet Island Estate
Andrea has worked in the hospitality industry since 1999 and knew immediately it was the field she was meant to be in. Andrea joined the Merri Makers team as an Event Consultant at Bonnet Island Estate in 2013 and has loved her journey every step of the way. She is constantly learning new things and staying up on the most recent Wedding Trends. Gianna has worked in the hospitality industry since 2005 and thoroughly enjoys every step of the event planning and execution process. Her tenure with Merri-Makers started in 2008 and has afforded her experience in both corporate and social event as well as weddings. Gianna appreciates catering to each of her client’s unique visions to ensure delivering the event of their dreams and beyond. Pattie Alfieri, Event Consultant for Off-Premise
Pattie has worked in the events and hospitality industry for the last 22 years and prides herself in the ability to take the wishes and desires of the client and make them a reality. She has been a member of the Merri-Makers family for 10 years. Her career experience from Maitre d’ to event consultant ensures clients that their day, from start to finish, is the one they always dreamed of.
Ellie Trakosis, Maitre D’ at Bonnet Island Estate
Ellie has been in the hospitality industry for 24 years. For the past 11 years, she has been the Maitre D’ at the beautiful Bonnet Island Estate creating lasting memories for many brides and grooms. Ellie follows through to make certain every personal touch wanted by the bride is included in her wedding day.
Matt Durst, Maitre D’ at Bonnet Island Estate
Matt started his career with Merri-Makers over 9 years ago as a houseman. Over the years he has served in many different capacities as a valuable asset to the Merri-Makers team. Since 2012, he has been overseeing the staff at Bonnet Island Estate and delivering impeccable service to all of our clients. His main goal is to ensure events run smoothly and that all of the clients’ enjoy the wedding of their dreams!
James Bullington, Maitre D’ at Bonnet Island Estate
James has worked with Merri-Makers since 2008, when he began as a member of the waitstaff. Since, he has served in many different roles as a valuable asset to the team. Currently, James is a Maitre D’ at Bonnet Island Estate and oversees the waitstaff. He goes above and beyond in aiming for our clients to have the most spectacular event.
JC Sweigart, Maitre D’ at The Ashford Estate
JC began working for Merri-Makers in 2008 as a waiter. Today he oversees the staff at The Ashford Estate as a Maitre d’. His personal goal is to make the bride and grooms dream a reality. The Ashford Estate is a 5 star property and JC delivers 5 star service.
Geri Sire, Maitre D’ at The Ashford Estate and Off Premise
Geri has worked for Merri-Makers since 1995 and for the past 10 years has been a Maitre D’. Geri brings her 20 years of experience to both The Ashford Estate and off-premise venues. She delivers to each and every bride and groom the wedding of their dreams.
Michele started working for Merri-Makers in 2015 as a waitstaff server. In February 2016, she began her current position as the Event Scheduler Coordinator. “One of my favorite parts about my job is the people I work with. I believe our staff delivers exceptional service because we are a team.”
