"We truly felt like we were being waited on hand and foot, which made the whole experience feel even more like a fairytale."

What was your favorite part of working with the Merri-Makers team?

My favorite part of working with the Merri Makers team was how they made everything so seamless and easy, from the planning stages all the way through to the big day. I remember being told so many times how calm I remained, and that was entirely because of the team. From the bridal assistants to Gianna, there was always someone available to handle tasks, answer questions, and make sure everything went smoothly. My family was amazed at how the team wouldn’t even let them handle little things like fetching their other shoes. We truly felt like we were being waited on hand and foot, which made the whole experience feel even more like a fairytale.

What was your favorite food of the night? Which dish were guests raving about?

The food was nothing short of spectacular, and our guests are still raving about it even now. Many of them were so impressed that they asked if they could have second helpings of the entrees. The cocktail hour was equally outstanding, and the ice cream cart was a delightful touch that everyone adored. The cake was also absolutely incredible—so much so that I’m eagerly looking forward to savoring it once more on our one-year anniversary. The entire culinary experience truly exceeded our expectations and contributed to making our event unforgettable.

What was your favorite photo spot of the venue?

All the photo spots were spectacular, but my absolute favorite has to be the grand staircase at the front of Mallard . It provided such a stunning, elegant backdrop. I also loved capturing moments in the chapel, especially since it was beautifully decorated with my floral arrangements. The archways were another fantastic location for photos, especially for our first touch. Ofcourse, the docks were also so picturesque. The bridal suite is also to DIE for!

Was there a theme to your wedding? Tell us about your wedding colors and aesthetic!

Our wedding theme was a lovely blend of blush pink and gold accents. The bridesmaids wore dresses in a blush pink, complemented by gold jewelry and heels. The groomsmen’s attire featured heathered blue suits, slightly lighter than navy, paired with brown leather accessories. The floral arrangements predominantly showcased white flowers with delicate touches of blush pink, tying the whole aesthetic together beautifully.

How did you and your partner meet? Share your love story with us!

July 17, 2020 – The summer that Covid-19 still had our lives turned upside down. Vince had been closing on a newly purchased home in Philadelphia. However, life had other plans and the deal fell through at the last minute. Upset at the turn of events, Vince’s friend Mike asked him to join him on a friend’s boat that weekend to take his mind off of things. Unbeknownst to him, he was about to meet the love of his life because Taylor had also been invited.
A little nervous about going on a boat full of strangers, Taylor convinced her best friend, Alex to join her. Once everyone arrived in the morning, one boy was particularly friendly. He introduced himself as the girls got on the boat and Taylor walked right past and got on without saying a word back. As they drove to F-Cove where they would dock up for the day, Vince started chatting with Alex. A little while later, Alex approached Taylor and told her she should go speak to Vince, expressing that he was so nice, cute and had a good job. Taylor insisted that he was into Alex and not her, and continued to brush it off.
A few hours later, Vince and Taylor finally found their way to one another. They hit it off immediately and become inseparable from that moment on. After getting off the boat, Vince ordered Taylor and Alex an Uber to go back and get dinner and drinks with him. While at dinner that night, Vince told Taylor that he would marry her one day. In normal Taylor fashion, she responded with “Yeah we’ll see” and well… now they live happily ever after!

What made you select this venue?

Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of getting married at Mallard. I used to pass by it on my way to Long Beach Island, and though I’d never seen the inside, I always knew it was special. After considering several other venues, I finally toured Mallard with my fiancé and family. We all left knowing it was the perfect choice—there wasn’t a single con on our list!

Would you recommend Merri-Makers to another bride? Share why!

Absolutely. I had my dream wedding there, and I didn’t have a single complaint about the day. Everyone remarked that it was one of the most beautiful weddings and venues they’d ever seen. I was sad to leave, but I plan to keep visiting because it’s just that amazing!
